Margaret Rumley Saul Beckom, 91, joined her Heavenly Father, her parents, and brothers and sisters in Heaven on August 31, 2013. Margaret was a loving, beautiful wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 65 years O.T., daughter Pam Beckom Prichard and husband Terry. She was preceded in death by her first husband Staff Sargent Jesse Willard Saul, who was killed in WWII, her parents Walter Lee Rumley and Nancy Brooks Rumley, sisters Lelia Massey, Ima Griffin, Ruth Hardy, Ora Rumley and Evelyn Conklin; and brothers Fred Rumley, Richard Rumley, Johnny Rumley, Henry Rumley and Walter Lee Rumley, Jr. Margaret retired from the Alamance-Burlington Schools in school food service. She worked at A.O. Elementary and Western Middle for many years. She loved children and enjoyed being with the students. Margaret loved to cook for others and she was known for her chicken pies at the annual Rumley Christmas Dinner.
She always had time for her family and friends. A special thank you to Advanced Home Care and her caregiver Joyce Neal for all their loving care during her illness. Margaret was a member of Bethel Methodist Church in Burlington and faithfully served her church family for many years. The celebration of Margaret's life will be conducted at Lowe's Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. by Dr. Terry Prichard and Rev. Stuart Crank, pastor of Bethel Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
