During WWII. he ferried P-38s and other aircraft, and flew transports in the North African Campaign. He flew the Berlin Airlift in 1948-49 and became a Command pilot with US Air Force's Military Air Transport Service.
Retired USAF as Lt. Colonel in 1961 and flew for various international commercial airlines until time of death in 1982.
Survivors as of 2005 include four children: Michael Dee living in Bellevue, WA; Roger Albert, Debra Ann, and Mark Kent living in Houston, TX.
