Mrs. Phillips was the wife of John A. Phillips who survives her at the age of 87 years. She was born in York State and came to Nebraska with her husband whom she married Nov. 17, 1831 and family in 1868, settling near Blair but has lived in the city for the past fourteen years. Ten children were born to Mrs. Phillips only four of whom survive her, two in Blair and two in Oregon.

Mr. and Mrs. Phillips have traveled life’s uneven pathway together for, the past sixty-three years and at his advanced age the blow falls very hard on him. Mrs. Phillips has been a member of the Baptist church for forty years, lived a conscientious Christian life and was always surrounded by loving friends. The funeral occurred Tuesday from their home in East Blair, Rev. Sheppard officiating. Her remains were interred in the Blair cemetery.
