Margaret Ann Brown Akers, 77, of Macon, Ga., died Thursday, July 27, 2006. She was preceded in death by her parents John W. and Vivian Kube Brown and her son Michael Akers. She was retired from Social Security Administration where she was a claims representative. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Chris Collins of Macon, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, David and Cheryl Akers of Coconut Creek, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Matthew Akers, Sarah Akers, Colby Collins, Christian Collins, Cameron Collins, Connor Collins, Calen Collins, Francine de Oliviera. Graveside service will be Sunday, 2 p.m. at the Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery, Wytheville, Va., conducted by the Rev. Kevin Fiorini. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, 1801 Williamette St. Suite 200, Eugene Oregon 97401. Grubb Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
