Mrs. Cox was born May 1, 1920 in New Boston, Texas and lived in Texarkana, Texas most of her life. She was a retired sales clerk and a member of First Church of the Nazarene and attended Wake Village Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, L. L. Letcher in 1980 and James Cox in 2005.
She is survived by one daughter: Melba Adams Fields of Wake Village, Texas; one sister: Bonnie Hester of Texarkana, Texas; two brothers: Roland Clemons of Genoa, Arkansas; Travis Clemons of Texarkana, Texas; one granddaughter and one grandson-in-law: Michelle and Robert Ward of Texarkana, Texas; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law: Mike and Stacey Adams of Texarkana, Texas; four great grandchildren: Brittney Ward and her fiancé, Bill Webb of Texarkana, Texas; Matthew Ward of Texarkana, Texas; Morgan Adams and Mallory Adams of Texarkana, Texas; a number of loving nephews, nieces and a host of friends.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Serenity Hospice and her special caregivers, for the care and love they gave to Nanny during her illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday at Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brent Hoefling officiating. Burial will be in Red Bayou Cemetery, New Boston, Texas.
