Member Of Tate County Pioneer Family Dies At Age Of 90
SENATOBIA, Miss., Feb. 19.---One of the oldest residents of Tate County and member of a pioneer family of this section, Mrs. M. P. Moore, 90, died at the Baptist Hospital in Memphis this morning at 2:18 o'clock.
Born near here Oct. 26, 1848, Mrs Moore was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Jordan, early settlers of the county. She attended school here and at Trenton, Tenn., and after the Civil War was married to Mr. Moore, Confederate veteran and prominent planter who died in 1936. Her son, E. E. Moore Sr., one of the leading business men of this section, died a year ago.
Surviving are a daughter, Miss Lena Moore of Senatobia; two grandsons, Maurice P. Moore and E. E. Moore of Memphis; a granddaughter, Mrs. Thomas P. Wilson of Senatobia; three great grandchildren, and the following nieces and nephews: The Rev. S. A. Wilkinson of Poplarville, Miss., Mrs. A. J. Cook and Mrs. J. W. Rice of St. Louis and Mrs. R. J. Wright of Oakland, Calif.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the family residence with Dr. H. L. Martin, pastor of the Baptist Church here, and the Rev. A. T. Cinnamond, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Bethesda Cemetery.
