YORK MAN IS KILLED IN CRASH NEAR VERDIGRE

A York man, Charles A. Salisbury, 51, was killed, apparently instantly, in a one car accident four miles south of Verdigre on Highway 14 about 3 o'clock last Thursday afternoon.

He was reported to be a telephone company plant manager at York.

The car, in which Salisbury was the only occupant, had just passed a car driven by Joseph Liska of Niobrara. The Salisbury car skidded 230 feet, overturned and wrapped itself around a stump.

Mr. Liska drove to Niobrara and notified a doctor, who went to the scene. He reported Mr. Salisbury had apparently died instantly.

Salisbury was on his way to visit relatives at Niobrara and was believed to be planning to do some hunting, as there were guns, ammunition and decoys in the car.
