OBITUARY-
Melvin J. Rohne, 88, Lyle, died Thursday afternoon, April 13 at Burr Oak Manor Nursing Home.
Melvin Julius Rohne was born September 19, 1911 in London Township, Freeborn County to Harold and Ella (Bergeson) Rohne. He was baptised at Beer Creek Valley Lutheran Church and Cofirmed in 1927 at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church. He married Elizabeth Tesch on March 12, 1938 and moved to their farm near Lyle, where he lived all his life. He was a member of Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church.
Melvin enjoyed fishing, playing pool, cards and horseshoes. He also enjoyed listening to the Twins and riding his lawnmower. He enjoyed riding in his car with his dog Sammy beside him.
He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law; Esther and Gifferd Sparks, Sargeant, Minn. and Edith Hastings, La Crescent, Minn.; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Virginia Rohne, Lyle; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Alice Rohne, Lyle; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and four brothers.
Casketbearers will be Jeff Haskin, Jim Haskin, Gene Sparks, Jay Kohnke, Dean Rohne and Kevin Rohne.
The organist will be Pam Sampson and soloist will be Roger Campbell.
Service: 11 a.m. Monday, April 17 at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church with Rev. Lydia Mittag officiating.
Interment: Six Mile Grove Cemetery
Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Worlein Funeral Home.
