Arthur Henkle, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Henkle of Corvallis, and in years past a resident of this city, died in the afternoon yesterday at the family home in Portland following a brief illness from influenza pneumonia.
Lee Henkle left on the afternoon train yesterday for Portland upon receipt of a message bringing news of the critical illness of his son but the patient passed away before he reached the bedside.
Mr. Henkle returned to Corvallis today to make arrangements for the funeral which will be held here tomorrow. Members of the Arthur Henkle family are under quarantine and will not be able to attend the funeral.
The body will be brought to Corvallis tomorrow and will be accompanied by Joseph Henkle and Mrs. Will McCollum, brother and sister of the deceased. it is probable that the body will be taken at once to Crystal Lake cemetery where the interment will be made.
Mr. Henckle was the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Henkle and grew to manhood in Corvallis.
He is survived by his widow and children, his parents, one brother, Joseph of Portland; and one sister, Mrs. McCollum also a resident of the metropolis.
