Alzada H. Truesdell, daughter of Charles Truesdell and Samantha Tyler, was born and raised in Columbia County, New York. She was first married to Nelson Huson in 1836 and gave birth to a daughter, Jeanette, in 1837. Nelson died in 1838, leaving her a widow with small child. About three years later, 1841, she wed William Edson Gabriel. Her second daughter, Calista B., was born a year later. Alzada outlived her second husband by about fourteen years, and was buried beside him. Her first husband is buried nearby.
