Visitation for family and friends of Pauline M. Brevoort of Grass Valley will be conducted from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at the Nevada City chapel of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Memorial Garden Cemetery in Grass Valley.
Mrs. Brevoort died Tuesday, May 10, at Spring Hill Manor in Grass Valley.
She was born Aug. 13, 1919, in Blue Mound, Ill., to James H. and Goldie M. (Morrison) Tabor. She and her family left Illinois in the late 20s arriving in California 1932. She graduated from You Bet Grammar School and later from Grass Valley High School in 1938. She married Lafayette D. Brevoort on June 12, 1937. She worked at Mare Island during World War II and returned to Cedar Ridge after the war. She worked at J.C. Penney's and then at Dewitt State Hospital. She enjoyed reading, sewing, fishing and swimming.
She is survived by her son, Dale L. Brevoort of Cedar Ridge; grandsons Brent W. Brevoort of Grass Valley, and Craig D. Brevoort of Wynne, Ark.; and great-grandchildren, Sasha M. Brevoort and Alexander C. Brevoort of Sparks, Nev. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lafayette D. Brevoort in August 1996.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
