She never remarried and spent the rest of her life caring for only surviving child and her husband's rich American Revolution legacy. Abigail Quincy did both well. Her son Josiah III became Mayor of Boston and her husband in remembered in American history as "The Patriot" and one of the founding Fathers of an emerging republic- the United States of America.
