Betty Lou Hollidge passed away March 5, 2004 in Walnut Creek at the age of 89. Born on October 3, 1914 in Colorado Springs, she came to California in her teens where she later met and married George M. Hollidge, her husband of more than 50 years. She is survived by her son, George H. Hollidge of Pleasant Hill, grandson, George Andrew (Andy) Hollidge, as well as granddaughters, Judith and Theresa, and her daughter, Marjorie Barnes of Mt. Pleasant, Utah, grandsons, David and Gary Haynes, and step-daughter, Dayel Bolin, and numerous great-grandchildren. She was a certified Ham radio operator and enjoyed helping with local parades and relaying messages from around the world. After moving to Rossmoor, she joined the lawn bowling club and took pleasure in participating in this sport for several years. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Friday, March 19, 2004 at 1pm at the Oakmont Memorial Park, 2099 Reliez Valley Road, Pleasant Hill. She will be interred with her husband that afternoon. Betty had requested no flowers. Oakmont Mortuary

Betty Lou was born to parents Jesse Forrest McCollum and Marjorie E Johnson, but her parents divorced and her stepfather Robert Burns Ruff Jr adopted her.
