William H Burd
William H. Burd died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Thomas Arnott at 37 Prospect avenue in Goshen at three o'clock a.m. Dec 10, aged 84 years. Death was caused by a complication of diseases. He had been ill about three months.
Deceased was born at Sparta, NJ, February 17, 1836, and had resided in Goshen the past year. He was a former member of the United States Navy.
He is survived by six sons; Joseph H. of Cleveland, O; John J., of Norwalk, Conn; William Jr., of Oregon City, Ore.; Geo. H , of Sussex, NJ; Daniel of Newton, NJ. and James of Tuckahoe, NJ; by two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Arnott, of Goshen; and by Mrs. Geo. Hunt of Florida, this county; by 12 grandchildren, Rose, Glenn, William and George Burd of Oregon; John Arnott, Mrs. Tuthill Wilby and Mrs. Ruth Burd all of Goshen; Mrs Irene Woodhams of Rochester, NY. Percy, Claude, Florence, and Gladys Hunt of Florida, NY., and one great-grandchild, William Harold Wilby, of Goshen.
Funeral Services were held Sunday, Dec. 12, at two p.m., at the Florida Presbyterian Church. The services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Mason, of Florida, and Rev. F. E. Haines of Goshen. Members of the Sons of Veterans acted as pall bearers. Interment in the Florida cemetery.
