Emma was the youngest child of John T. and Mary Frances Benson Balla. She was reportedly first married about 1917 to John Adam Kraft, born April 20, 1898. They had two daughters, Francis Alva Irene, who reportedly died August 12, 2002; and Audrey Deloris Kraft, who was born about 1920. Emma later married John Drewanz.
