Mary Christine Wynne Smith, 75, of Hawkinsville, Ga. died Saturday, January 5, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville, with Rev. Freddy Hogg and Dr. Don McClung officiating.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Pulaski County, Ga. and a member of First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville, Ga. She was retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base and secretary for the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office. She was a member of the American Cancer Society. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Lamkin Smith and was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was an advocate of family genealogy and believed in keeping family burial sites in pristine order.
Survivors include sons, James Lamkin Smith, Jr. and Blake Jelks (Lynn) Smith, both of Hawkinsville, Ga.; daughter, Natalie Amanda Smith of Hawkinsville, Ga.; sisters, Grace Wynne Jones and Faye Wynne Dunn, both of Hawkinsville, Ga.; brother, John Thomas Wynne of Hawkinsville, Ga.; grandchildren, Jesse Franklin Smith of Hawkinsville, Ga., Alexander Blake Smith of Hawkinsville, Ga., Kristin Lynn Smith of Hawkinsville, Ga., Jimmy Bell of Valdosta, Ga. and Jack Bell of Statesboro, Ga.
Pallbearers will be Tony Demita, Jason Fremont, Marvin Giddens, Jack Wynne, Danny Grimsley and Keith Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department.
