Laverne Ruth Dean, 76, of Longview, passed away June 17, 2005 at the Hospice Care Center. She was born September 22, 1928 in Astoria, Oregon, the daughter of Arthur and Ruth (Erickson) Olsen. She graduated from Washington High School in Portland in 1947. On October 1, 1960 she married Stanley L. Dean
in Portland, Oregon. She went back to school in the 1980's to brush up on computer skills and accounting.Mrs. Dean moved to Longview in December of 1998, coming from Bellevue, Washington, where she had lived for 23 years. She worked as an accountant for the Lakes Club in Bellevue. She was also an avid Duplicate Bridge player. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Olsen. Mrs. Dean leaves behind her husband, Stanley L. Dean of Longview; two daughters, Sandi Hansen of Ocean Park and Angela Lund of Sisters, Oregon; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2005 at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park with Pastor Linda Smith officiating. Inurnment will take place at Longview Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632. Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
