AIKEN, SC - MARGARET W. MARONEY, 67, of Aiken, SC died Monday, August 5, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Maroney was a native of Saluda, SC, having made Aiken her home for the past eleven years. She retired after forty-two years of service from Union Switch & Signal Company in Batesburg. Mrs. Maroney was a member of the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci where she sang in the choir. Her family stated that she will be remembered as a very active, Godly woman with a sweet spirit.
Mrs. Maroney was preceded in death by her husband, David Donald Maroney; an infant son, Joshua Maroney and her parents, Mike and Bessie Warren.
Survivors include her daughter and son- in- law, Sarah and Robbie Martin, Aiken, SC; three grandchildren, Derek, Hannah, and Megan Martin all of Aiken, SC and three sisters, Christine Corley, Shirley Barton, and Betty Sue Morgan, all of Joanna, SC.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in the First Baptist Church of Montmorenci with the Rev. Dr. Tommy Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the deacons of the church: Jerry Love, Bill Martin, Carl Gartman, Jimmy Booth, John Byars and Blenn Martin.
