He was the son of Steve Cvetkovich of Croatia; his mother's name is unknown. He was married to Marija nee Plese (c.1887-), also of Croatia. Marija was the daughter of Miho Plese and Barbara nee Krkovic. Nick and Marija had children Nick (1906-1991, born in Croatia), Joe (c.1912-), and Mary (c.1914-1987). He was a copper miner and, as a participant at the Christmas party at the Italian Hall, was surely a supporter of the Western Federation of Miners. After his death, Marija subsequently remarried to Peter Sanks (Sankoff). Nick's birth year is listed as 1883 on his gravestone but a birth date of August 11, 1880 was provided in his death certificate by his wife.
