Betty Jean (Smeltzer) Daniels, 73, of Kittanning, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Armstrong County Health Center. Born Sept. 24, 1939, in Ohio, she was a daughter of the late James Smeltzer and Ida (Wolffe) Smeltzer. A lifelong resident of the community, Betty was a homemaker and a breast cancer survivor. Mrs. Daniels was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Adrian, the Kittanning Moose and the Ford City Eagles. Betty loved playing bingo, and she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her survivors include her children, Mary (Mike) Stefancik of Florida, Howard Cunningham, of Kittanning, William Cunningham, of Parkersburg, W.Va., Gwen Hawkins, of Ford City, and Charles (Adriene) Daniels, of Adrian; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Ethel Lytle, of Fayetville, N.C., and June Goodman (Jewel).She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Daniels; a sister, Ruth Cornman; and two grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning, where additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of an 11 a.m. funeral service. The Rev. Arlyn Eisenbrandt will officiate.
