Joseph's mother was sister to Benjamin Tompkins Walton's wife Sarah Ashton - hence the middle name Ashton for this Hannah Boyer McDaniels's husband Joseph. In other words, it likely was that first-cousins Walton and McDaniels married Boyer sisters, or possibly Boyer cousins.
A death record of 1851 makes sense for this Johanna -- She shows in the census of 1850, her youngest child had just been born that year, and she would have been in her early 40s when she died.
