Dr. Richard M Steinberg, 82, died March 7, 2000 in Downers Grove. He was born July 2, 1917 in Fairbury, IL.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Morris of Downers Grove; three nieces, Janet Dishon, Patricia Kaare and Kathleen Tedeschi, and two nephews, David P Steinberg and Stephen C Steinberg.
Dr. Steinberg was a pediatrician for more than 40 years in Downers Grove and was on the staff of Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. After college, he served as a medic in the U S Marines in Guadacanal during World War II. He also was an accomplished pianist.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 18, at 11 am at Toon Funeral Home, 4920 Main St., Downers Grove.
Interment will be Graceland Cemetery in Fairbury, IL
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in his name to Children's Memorial Hospital, 2300 Children's Plaza, Chicago, IL 60164

DOWNERS GROVE - Richard M. Steinberg, MD, 83, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Downers Grove.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 18, at 11 a.m. at Toon Funeral Home Home, 4902 Main Street, Downers Grove. Cremation rites were accorded and inurement will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.
Dr. Steinberg was born July 2, 1917, in Fairbury.

Dr. Steinberg received his medical degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign, graduating number one in his class. After college, he served as a medic in the Marines in Guadacanal during World War II. Prior to retirement, he was on the staff at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago and was pediatrician in Downers Grove for more than 40 years, caring for many Downers Grove residents' children.
He was also an accomplished pianist.
