He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Dr. Julie Satterwhite.

Bro. Louis, as many affectionately called him, leaves a legacy of lifelong service to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a role model to his family and friends and maintained relationships from different generations and different walks of life. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Satterwhite served in the US Air Force after graduating from Houston County H.S. (TN) and was a Korean War veteran. He studied at the University of Tennessee where he graduated with a B.S. in engineering. While there he married his bride, Patricia Ann Shirley of Nashville, TN. He worked as an industrial engineer in Nashville, TN, Kennett, MO, Paragould, AR, Rogers, AR, and Athens, GA. He later became an ordained minister and served on the staff of Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Athens as Associate Pastor/Administrator for 15 years until retirement. Bro. Louis was a dedicated student of the Bible and a soul winner, leading many of his family and friends to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. He also invested his time teaching and counseling young married couples and advising them financially. He was a sportsman and enjoyed deer hunting, quail hunting, and duck hunting, and was a skeet shooting champion and a member of the National Skeet Shooting Association, holding AR and GA championship titles. Most of all he will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather for he loved to spend time with his family.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 28 at Lord and Stephens West, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Rd., Bogart, GA with Rev. Bill Ricketts and Dr. Mike Spradlin officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 followed by the service at 3:00. Burial will follow in Athens Memory Gardens.
