Nancy Rogers Niles

Nancy Ann Rogers Niles, age 69, of Lady Lake, Fla., formerly of Joplin, passed away at 12:04 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at a Joplin health care center to be with her Lord.

Born Aug. 27, 1935, in Joplin, she lived in Joplin until the age of 18, when she attended University of Missouri at Columbia. She was a homemaker.

After her marriage to her high school sweetheart, Gary Niles, they were lifetime military. After retirement, they moved to and truly enjoyed Lady Lake, Gary preceded her in death in 2002.

A son and daughter also preceded her in death.

She was Episcopalian.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Niles, stationed in Germany and currently serving in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army and wife, Shay; a grandson, Charles Scott Niles; a granddaughter, Merisa Chancey Niles; her father, Ed Rogers, of Joplin; her mother, Ruth Seiler, of Joplin; brothers, Phil Rogers and wife, Shelly and Mike Rogers and wife, Diane, all of Joplin; brother-in-law, Steven Niles; and sister-in-law, Carolyne Niles, both of Kansas City, Mo.; aunts, Velma Smith and Lois Rogers, of Joplin; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The body was cremated under the direction of Parker Mortuary, where flowers may be sent.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 28, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church with Fr. Frank Sierra officiating.

Interment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends and family will gather at the home of her brother, Mike Rogers, following the interment.
