CONCORD — Herman Amos Paxton, 52, of 220 Hahn St. died at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lowrance Hospital, Mooresville. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday at South Concord Church of God by Rev. Tom Clark. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The body will be taken from Cavin Funeral Home, Mooresville, to the residence at 5 p.m. today and remain there until taken to the church to lie in state half an hour prior to the rites. A native of Iredell county, Mr. Paxton was a son of the late Sam Paxton and Mrs. Nora Starnes Paxton. He was a retired textile worker. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Edna Paxton; three sons, Ronnie, Dannie, and David Paxton; one daughter, Joyce Paxton of Concord; one brother, E. J. Paxton of Concord; and two sisters, Mrs. R. M. Hager and Mrs. Gillie Deaton of Mooresville.
