Eva F. Messersmith, age 88 of Francisco, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She retired in 1973 from J.C. Penney's as a seamstress. She was a member of the D.A.R.
She was born June 25, 1917 in West Virginia to Arthur and Elastia (McClung) Brown, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Doyle (Hoot) Messersmith in 1992; a daughter, Sheila Kohlmeyer in 1978; and a sister, Evelyn Jones.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Carol Messersmith of Francisco; two granddaughters, Angie Peckenpaugh and Kathy Messersmith; one great grandson, Broden Peckenpaugh; and a sister, Mary Jane Dishon of Carmel, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 29, 2005 at 10:00 AM at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. Tony Phillips officiating. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Francisco. Friends may call from 4 until 8 PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
