Clifford R. Tidball, 86, died Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Albany Medical Center, after a short illness. He was born on February 24, 1924 in Duanesburg, the son of the late Richard and Claudine Lamb Tidball. He attended Draper School, and worked at the General Electric Co. as a gas cutter. Clifford was a honorary member of District 2 Rotterdam Volunteer Fire Dept. He proudly served the community in the Dept. for 33 and a half years. He was also a member of the Rotterdam Elks. Clifford was a good, hard working family man; devoted husband and father, he always provided care and support for all who needed it. He was the loving husband for 62 years of Katherine Abbott Tidball. They were married on October 30, 1948. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Tidball; son, Raymond Tidball of Guilderland; daughters, Linda Moore (Howard) of Fonda, Kathy Greene (Allan) of Glenville, Clare Reynolds (Joe) of Rotterdam; sister, Lucille Palmer of Schoharie, and brothers, John Tidball (Leah) of Florida, Joseph Tidball of Clyde, NY, and Lawrence Tidball (Elizabeth) of Wilton. Also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; also good family friends, Eric and Stephan. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Dena Brown. Calling hours, 6 to 8, Sunday evening at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Services will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at the funeral home followed by entombment at Memory Gardens, Colonie. Contributions to District 2 Rotterdam Volunteer Fire Dept., Curry Rd. 12306.
