Susan was the daughter of James Earl "Bo" and Dolores Brewer who preceeded her in death along with her beloved stepson Justin Brooking Ashcraft. She is survived by her husband Dale Ashcraft, stepson Adam Ashcraft and step daughter Jennifer Walsh and the greatest gifts in her life her grandchildren Sydney, Ian, Kamryn and Brennan. She was truly a great human being filled with God's love. She appeared in the documentary "A Lion in the House" which aired on PBS and won best documentary Emmy with her family.
