Born in Brooklyn's Sunset Park district, Gary graduated from John Jay High School before moving to Mariners Harbor, Staten Island in 1984. He worked at the MTA's Castleton Depot before retiring in the early 2000s.
After becoming a member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Ghost Council 4808 he served as both a grand knight and past district deputy, and Rolling Thunder Chapter 2. He was also a chaplain at the Mariners Harbor Yacht Club, president of the Arlington Civic Association and a former leader of
Boy Scouts of America Troop 13.
Gary loved fishing and scuba diving and riding his motorcycle across the Island and spending vacation time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, mother, children and eight grandchildren.

Gary had a infectious smile and unique sense of humor and always lived his life to the fullest every day. He will be missed.
