Mrs. Walter R. Doan
Rose F. Doan, wife of the late Walter R. Doan, Green Tree Apartments, West Chester, died Saturday night at her home.
Mrs. Doan wa born in London, England and was a daughter of the late Herbert H. and Jesse Love Furby.
The London-born resident moved to West Chester after her husband, a retired Coatesville farmer and one-time outfielder - pitcher with the Cleveland Indians of the American League, died in 1935. Mr. Doan farmed near the Coatesville Veteran's Hospital, West Brandywine Township.
Mrs. Doan was a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientists, West Chester.
Surviving are three daughters, Helen, wife of Austin A. Thomas, Chappaqua, N.Y.; Doris J. and Lois H., at home; two grand-daughters; two brothers, Arthur Furby and Herbert H. Furby, both of Alexandria, La.; and a half-sister, H. Louise Calvit, Jacksonville, Fla.
