Mr. Maynard Alonzo Benson, 74, of Marietta, died Sunday, August 1, 2004.
Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday in The Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta. Burial will be in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
Born in Grove Park, GA, Mr. Benson has been a resident of Marietta for the past forty-one years. Mr. Benson was formerly in the trucking Industries for Twenty-Three years. After leaving the trucking Industry, Mr. Benson owned and operated a parking lot on Butler Street in Atlanta and several restaurants in Cobb County, before retiring.
Mr. Benson was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jane Gossett Benson.
Survivors include daughter, Jenny L. and Kenny Bradford of Marietta; sons; Emory W. and Denise Benson of Acworth; Rodney H. and Sonya Benson of Hiram; sister, Juanita and William Rose of Griffin; six grandchildren; 1 great grandchild.
Family will receive friends today Tuesday, August 3, 2004 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta.
