Mr. John A. Austin, age 81 of the Dillard's Creek Community in Chestnut Mound, TN passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at his home.
Mr. Austin was born December 4, 1931 in Chestnut Mound, the son of the late Ernest Tilman Austin and Elma Florence Bush.
He was also preceded in death by Two Brothers; Tilman Austin and Houston Austin. John A. married Maggie Lou Mayberry on January 19, 1957. He was well known for his love of Mules and Wagons.
Mr. Austin is survived by his Wife of 56 Years; Maggie Lou Austin of the Dillard's Creek Community: Three Children; Gail (Danny) Reece, Renia (Donnie) Vaden, and Dale (Gail) Austin, all of the Dillard's Creek Community in Chestnut Mound: Seven Grandchildren; Keith Mahaney, Kendra (Josh) Angel, Cayla Judd, Brandon Vaden, John (Molly) Austin, Brittany Vaden, and Tyler Austin: Six Great-Grandchildren; McKenzie Judd, Hayden Judd, Ethan Judd, Brent Angel, Isaiah Angel, and Austin Vaden: Brother; Jimmy Carrol Austin of Chestnut Mound, TN: Sister; Anna Horton of Hartsville, TN: Sisters-in-Law; Violet Austin and Ann Austin.
Funeral Services for Mr. Austin are scheduled to be conducted 3PM, Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes with Bro. Dickie Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Chestnut Mound United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation with the Austin family will be held on Thursday from 1PM to 8PM and again on Friday after 1PM until the service time at 3PM.
The Austin Family requests donations in Mr. Austin's memory be made to the Chestnut Mound United Methodist Church.
