Wilbur Benjamin "Benny" Heffner, age 64, died Aprill 22, 1957 due to myocarditis and acute enter colitis. He was born Spetember 9, 1892 in Kansas to William Henry Heffner and Alice Elizabeth Shuman. He had six sisters: Dollie, Hulda, Lula, Mabel Claire, Laura Ellen, and Cora Heffner.

He married Catherine Millie "Kattie" Clifton in Missouri in 1915. To this union there were three children: Alva Winfield Heffner, Alice Louise Cole Heffner, and Nancy Mable Heffner Streeter.

He then married Elmetta (Mett) Mitchell. He may have helped raise Elmetta's children. There is no evidence that Wilbur was the biological father and the children have Mitchell as the last name: Oakley Elmer "Stubb" Mitchell (1913-1999), Lilly Lolita Mitchell Watson (1917-1999), Leona Fay Mitchell (1920-2002), Lulu Margaret Mitchell Perry (1922-1979), and Opal Lois Mitchell Berry (1928-2008).

He died at his home In Plattsburg, Missouri after a short illness of acute enteritis four days prior to his death. He did have myocarditis for over 20 years which also contributed to his death. Funeral Services were held Wednesday afternoon and conducted by Reverend McFarland and burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery.
