Mabel Irene Beaty Gary was the daughter of William Edgar Beaty and Cora Adell Row. She was born in Washington Township, Iowa in about February 1910. She was known as Irene by all who knew her.
Irene had eight siblings: Marion Douglas Beaty, Archibald A "Archie" Beaty, Harriet Ella Beaty (Getlin, Patten), Herbert James Beaty, Cora May Beaty (England), Wilma Maxine Beaty, Genevieve Virginia Beaty, and Henry W. Beaty.
On November 13, 1927, Irene married Elmer Festus "Nick" Simon in Hill County, Texas. Together, they had four children known to this author: Bobby Lyonal "Bob" Simon, Gwendolyn Hortense "Gwen" Simon (Eubank), Sidney Harold Simon (who was premature and died shortly after birth), and Mary Earlene Simon (Hanna). The date of their divorce is unknown at this time.
In about 1943, Irene married Jodie Ray Gary in either Texas or Mississippi. Together, they had two children: Charles Ray Gary and Don Eugene Gary (who also died shortly after birth).
Irene passed away on October 12, 1945 in Greenville, Mississippi, and was buried with her infant son, Don, at Greenville Cemetery.
