Robert C. West

Last rites for Robert Culen West, who died at the State Street Home of Convalescence, in Jackson, on September 14, were conducted at Lee Funeral Home Chapel Monday morning, September 16th, at ten o'clock with the Rev. W. P. Bailey officiating. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Aberdeen.

Active pallbearers were Charlie Jaco, Johnny Flurry, Fred Watts, Forrest Heath, Lloyd Moore and M. L. Branch.

Honorary pallbearers were W. G. Baker, David Webster, Dr. A. M Bailey, L. A. Blackston, M. V. Branch, Ralph Applewhite, Harry Simmons and all Stewards in the Methodist Church.

Mr. West was born at Aberdeen on December 28, 1868, coming to Winona in 1914 where he owned and operated a jewelry store until 1945. He was a member of the Moore Memorial Methodist Church, serving as president of the Board of Stewards for a number of years, and was a member of the Board of Aldermen.

He is survived by two sons, Hugh West, and R. C. West, Jr. both of Yazoo City.
