Walter was born in Walsenburg Colorado to parents James Olesky [Oleskevich] and Mary (Stock) Olesky. Walter grew up in a very strict house. After he grew up he played baseball as a pitcher in Chicago IL. He injured his arm after just one season. He met Esther Guadnola in a town near Trinidad Colorado and the two were married in 1938. Walter and Esther raised five children in Grand Junction Colorado. Walter worked as a steam engine fireman for many years. After retirement Walter and Esther moved to Denver Colorado where they enjoyed watching their children grow up. On September 11, 1993 Walter passed away from an ongoing heart condition. He is remembered by his family for his great sense of humor and kindness.
