Arthur Wesley Adkins
SETH -- Arthur Wesley Adkins, 79, of Seth, W.Va., died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at home after a long illness.
He was a retired coal miner from Valley Camp Coal Company, Shrewsbury, W.Va., with 42 years of service. He was a member of the Cooperstown Community Church, the UMWA, and the Racine Volunteer Fire Dept. He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl " Tootsie " Adkins on May 14, 1998.
Surviving are; sons, Joe Adkins and John Adkins, both at home; daughters, Tammy Stevens of Seth, Lucy Nugent of Comfort, W.Va., Junline Elkins of Alkol, W.Va., Tammy Bailey of Hickory, N.C., Vickie Adkins and Doris Adkins, both of Seth; sister, Gladys Dotson of Seth; brother, Charles Adkins of Seth;
14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2001, at Cooperstown Community Church with the
Rev. Darrell Ross officiating. Burial will be in Foster Cemetery at Slaughter's Creek.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to midnight Friday, June 1, 2001, at the church. Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet, W.Va., is in charge of arrangements.
