My Spacey

Spacey was born in a closet in my bedroom. When he was only a few days old.My then two year old Son"not meaning to" broke both of his hind legs.Because of it he was to weak to fight his litter siblings to nurse. So for the first few weeks of his life,I would lay him in the palm of my hand & bottle feed him.
He became one of the best cats I had ever had in my life.We use to play hide & seek together,I would hide & he always found me.But what was really cute is he would hide from me wanting me to seek him out.
He was always pampered & loved his whole life.We all loved Spacey.
In July of 1989 I noticed a lump on the side of his jaw.For four months & many vet visits I tried to save his life. But the Cancer won & I had no choice,I had to let our Spacey go.I held him in my arms & let the vet put him in a peaceful sleep.I then brought him home & he sleeps in the flowers,in the yard he loved so much.
I have had many cats since him & I loved each & every one of them. But not one had ever been like him.Spacey was one of a kind.

♥*♥*♥I MISS YOU SO MUCH SPACEY♥*♥*♥

The Last Battle
If it should be that I grow frail and weak
and pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this--the last battle--can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
Don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test.
We have had so many happy years,
What is to come can hold no fears
You'd not want me to suffer, so.
When the time comes, please let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me til the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
it is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you
Who has to decide this thing to do;
We've been so close--we two--these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.
