NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. — Vivian Ilene Basham, 89, of 193 Meadow Circle, North Tazewell, Va. (Springville), died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va.

Born in Jenkin Jones, W.Va. September 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Buford and Edna (Miller) Billips of Abb's Valley, Va. She had been a resident of Springville for 17 years and was of the Methodist faith. She retired from Pocahontas High School as manager of the cafeteria.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Basham, one brother and five sisters.

She is survived by daughter, Patty Farmer and husband Roger of Springville, Va.; two grandsons, Donnie Farmer of Tazewell, Va. and David Farmer of New Oxford, Pennsylvania; three special great-granddaughters, Katie and Alyssa Farmer of Springville, Va. and Shiloh Farmer of New Oxford, Pennsylvania; two special great-grandsons, Davy Farmer of Springville, Va. and Hunter Griner of New Oxford, Pennsylvania; one brother, Donald Billips and wife Mozell of Fairlea, W.Va. and one sister, Frances Vance of Springville, Va.; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 8, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Va. with the Rev. Reginald Blakewood officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. Friends may call Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rodriguez Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Va. Pallbearers will be family members.
