Robert H. Fonda, 66, of 19 Whitmore Avenue was pronounced dead on arrival at 3:30 Friday afternoon at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, where he was taken after being stricken ill in that city. The cause of death was not reported. He was born Sept. 25, 1909 in Amsterdam, the son of William H. and Delia Moore Fonda. He had moved to Johnstown from Amsterdam three years ago. Mr. Fonda had been employed the last three years by the Hupkes Outdoor and Auto Center, Johnstown. While residing in Amsterdam he had operated the former H. R. Fonda Cycle shop for many years. Mr. Fonda was a member of the Welcome Masonic'Lodge of Amsterdam. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. John C.
