Beverly Jean Guenthart

Beverly Guenthart, age 70, passed away at Stanford Medical Center on December 31, 2008. She is survived by her loving husband, Lonnie Guenthart of 52 years; five children and spouses, Tobey (Tracy), Tammie (Bob), Teresa (John), Troy (Pam), and Todd (Kathy), and 12 grandchildren, Brian, Tiffany, Lindsey, Robbie, Sabrina, Samantha, Cody, Ashlee, Haley, Jessica, Joshua and Jared.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Venetta Tarrach of Atwater.
Beverly graduated from Merced High School in 1956 and was an accomplished trumpet player in the Merced Marching 100. She married Lonnie in December 1956 and set up house in Cathey's Valley. She raised five kids and drove the local school bus for 33 years. Beverly retired from the Mariposa School District in 1999. Bev enjoyed gardening and cake decorating. She was known throughout the county for her wedding cakes. Beverly really enjoyed decorating the house and yard for the Christmas holiday. Her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren, where she never forgot a birthday or other special occasion.
Visitation will be held at Cathey's Valley Baptist Church: Cornett's Entrance in Cathey's Valley on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 12:00 p.m. Graveside service will follow at Cathey's Valley Cemetery on Hornitos Road in Cathey's Valley.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home in Merced.
