Millicent Amelia "Emily" Smith (Ridgeway) Clelland, 69 years 2 months and 27 days old, died March 17, 1887. She was born in Wayne County, Indiana of Robert Smith (Born North Carolina) and mother Mary Ratcliff (Born Ireland) on 21 December 1887 (home birth).

Ameila "Emily" had been married to Noah Ridgeway in Henry County, Indiana on February 10, 1839, and they had a daughter by the name of Saphronia Ridgeway.

She then married John Clelland on September 6, 1841 in Henry County, Indiana. To this union she had seven children: Mary A, Martha, Ira Milton, Emily Jane, Wilson Thompson 'Wils'., Arminta Genett, and John Charles Clelland. All of the children born in Indiana.

Emily died of senile bronchitis (pneumonia) which she had for 3 weeks and then developed congestive heart failure (CHF) x 3 days. Death may have been at home. R. W. Smith signed the death certificate. According to the personal and statistical particulars attached to death certificate, she was living in Xenia (now known as Converse),
