Elnora Wilkerson Cheatham, daughter of the late Add and Annie Wilkerson was born July 9, 1929 in Oxford, N.C. She departed this life on November 28, 1987 at St. Francis Hospital. She was a loving devoted wife, mother and grandmother; not only to her children but to all children she came in contact with. They loved her as though she was their blood mother and all called her Mama. She along with her family here in New Jersey united themselves with the Emmanuel Pentecostal Temple, Hutchinson Road, Robbinsville, N.J. where she served faithfully for many yers. As her health began to fail, she could not attend as she would have liked, but often talked of her church and mother Thomas. she was affiliated with the civic concerns of her city and was Committee Woman of her district. She leaves to mourn her passing, a devoted husband Ernest Cheatham of the mone; four daughters: Annie Glenn, Trenton, N.J. Carrie Frances Wilkerson, Queens, N.Y. Diane Green and Linda Davis, Oxford, N.C; one sister, Mary F. Clark, Oxford, N.C; a foster father, Lynn Hawley, Oxford, N.C; a foster sister, Mary Clements, Henderson, N.C; five foster brothers: Leonard Hawley, Norfolk, Va., William Hawley, Camden, N.J., Roosevelt Hawley & James T. Hawley, Oxford, N.C. and Elbert L. Hawley of Henderson, N.C. Ater the demise of her parents she was reared by Mr. & Mrs. Willie Bobbitt of Oxford, N.C. who now resides in Trenton, N.J. of The Bobbitt family she adopted The Bobbitt Children as her brothers & sisters. Five brothers & sisters: Cleveland, August, Samuel Bobbitt of Trenton-Mary Dockery & Lorraine Lester of Trenton, NJ. She shall be greatly missed by all those whose life she touched but" Our Heavenly Father" never put any more on us than we can bear. Although it is dark at this hour for all who loved and cherished her. We shall look up and give"Thanks" That 'God' let us have her for a while and we shall try to meet her in that Great Beyond.
