Rites Set For Stutts
SHERRILLS FORD - William Gordon Stutts, 61, of route 2, Sherrllls Ford, was dead on arrival at Catawha Memorial Hospital Saturday. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was born In Iredell County July 7, 1915, and was a son of the late William Kelly and Jessie Thompson Stutts.

He was employed at the maintenance department of Crescent Land and Timber Corp. He was a member of Rehobcth United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the administrative board, choir, and organizer and cook for the annual church barbecue. He was also a member of the Sherrills Ford Lions Club, and on the board of directors of the Sherrllls Ford-Terrell Fire Department.

On July 16,1938, he was married to the former Annie Barnette, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, Tommy L. Stutts, route 1, Sherrllls Ford, J. Kenton Stutts, Harold E. Stutts, Clay B. Stutts, and Kelly G. Stutts, all of route 2, Sherrills Ford; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Jewell) Elmore of Catawba; six brothers, Ross Stutts of China Grove, Eneal Stutts of Washington, Mac W. Stutts of Ml. Ulla, Press C. Stutts of Bradenton, Fla., Latt T. Stutts of route 2, Sherrills Ford, and Jesse B. Stutts of the U. S. Army, Germany; four sisters, Mrs. Sam (Estelle) Cashion of Mooresville, Mrs. William (Norvelle) Lloyd of Charlotte, Mrs. Sue Holdsclaw' of Catawba, and Mrs. Arthur (Treva) Smith of Boone; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Stutts will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Rehobeth United Methodist Church at Terrell. Rev. Gayle Ford will officiate, and burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church for 30 minutes prior to the service. Members 'of the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Cavin Funeral Home in Mooresville.
