ARLINGTON - H. Dewitt Seago, 83, a retired Methodist minister, died
Thursday, July 8, 1999, in Arlington.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday at New World United Methodist Church, 2201 N. Davis
Drive, Arlington. Burial: Moore Memorial Gardens. The family will receive
friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Moore Funeral Home.

Memorials: McMurry Memorial Scholarship Fund.

H. Dewitt Seago was born Jan. 7, 1916, in Post. He graduated from McMurry
College in Abilene in 1940, and Perkins School of Theology at Southern
Methodist University in 1942. He served 13 churches in the Northwest Texas
Conference of the United Methodist Church. In 1965, he received an honorary
Doctorate of Divinity degree from McMurry University. He was a Mason in the
Floydada Lodge No. 712. He served on the board of the Methodist Home in
Waco.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Kirk Seago.

Survivors: Son, Robert Seago and wife, Sharon; daughters, Carolyn Risse and
husband, John, Catharyn vonEnde and husband, Ted, Linda Connor and husband,
Robert; brother, W. Arthur Seago and wife, Foy Mae; sisters, Mattie Seale,
Opal Baker and husband, Howard; grandchildren, Andrea Asmus and husband,
Tom, Linda Bennett and husband, Robert, Jay McMeans and wife, Vonna, Stuart
McMeans, Sara Orr and husband, John, John Risse, Kelley Seago, Missy Seago,
Gretchen vonEnde, Susan Wartchow and husband, Eric; great-grandchildren,
Alyssa Asmus, Austin Asmus, Creede McMeans, Connor Wartchow and Ellee Harper
McMeans.
