"Zula F. Lowery, Carmi

A 79-year-old resident of Carmi, Zula F. Lowery, died at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 1999 at the White County Medical Center in Carmi. She was the owner of the RS Brownsville Store Restaurant.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carmi and the VFW Auxiliary.

She was born March 11, 1919 in Norris City, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Hill) York.

Surviving are a son, Phillip Lowery of Maunie; two sisters, Charlene Tait of Los Angeles, Calif., and Erma Hosick of Carmi; two brothres, Edward York of Chicago and Ben York of Carmi; three grandchildren, Peggye, Phillip and Jackie Lowery; and five great-grandchildren, Jacob Davis, Joey Aud and Lucas, Taylor and Jax Lowery.

Funeral services for Zula Lowery will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with the Rev. Nicholas Showalter officiating. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery near Brownsville. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18."
