James Merkison Abernathy

James Muchison (Merkison) Abernathy was the son of Adam Alexander Abernathy and his wife Rhoda Ellen Cline. His siblings were John P, Lee Alexander, Gertrude Holdsclaw, Nancy Bradley, Lura Everhart, Lucy Ellen, Buna Iola Brinkley and George W Abernathy.

He was the husband of Elvie L Sherrill. This union was blessed with James Floyd and Anna Lunetta Abernathy.

James fell off a ladder while cutting a limb. He was dead on arrival at the hospital. His Death Certificate states he died from a ruptured thorasic aorta.
