Miss Victoria Oxenford died suddenly at the home of a niece in Houston Thursday night. The body will be in Cameron at 1:45 a.m. Saturday and will be taken to the new residential funeral home of the Leland Green Undertaking Company. The new home is now located in the residence formerly occupied by Mrs. C.E. Gaston. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 20, in St. Monica's Church with Rev. George J. Duda reading the Mass. Interment will be made in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Green Funeral Home directing arrangements. The body will remain at the Funeral Home until the funeral hour.

Miss Oxenford was a native of Cameron, the daughter of the late John C. Oxenford who was district clerk for a number of years. Miss Oxenford died suddenly and information concerning her death was telephoned to J.D. Eplen, a life time friend of the family. Because of her sudden death she is believed to have suffered a heart stroke.

The late John C. Oxenford was a native of England. He moved to Cameron many years ago and reared his family. John C. Oxenford, Jr., died last year at his home in Navasota. He was buried in Cameron in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Miss Oxenford was formerly a member of the Cameron Enterprise staff and also for years was employed by a utility firm in Dallas. Her late father at one time was a school teacher and trained his children in business administration. Many old friends in Cameron were grief stricken when they learned of her death in Houston Thursday night. The Cameron Herald, April 25, 1940
