Marvin Prentiss McReynolds , Jr. , the son of Marvin Prentiss McReynolds , Sr. and Mildred Denson McReynolds , was born March 27 , 1943 in Oktibbeha County , Mississippi . He was a 1961 graduate of Starkville High School and a graduate of Mississippi State University with an accounting degree . At MSU he was a member of the Delta Chi of Kappa Sigma fraternity . Following graduation he married his sweetheart Nell and began a thirty year career with IBM which led him to relocating in a number of places across the country and ultimately moving to the Knoxville , Tennessee area . Wherever he went he was known for his fine Christian character and his love and devotion to his wife , children , and later grandchildren . He served the Lord in leadership responsibilities in the churches he was a member , taught Sunday school , and was a volunteer chaplain at Transport For Christ ministering to truck drivers . After a two year battle with cancer he died at age 70 May 31 , 2013 in Lenoir City , Tennessee . He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joe McReynolds . He was survived by his wife to whom he had been married 46 years , his three children and their spouses , and his ten grandchildren .
