Alfred was the son of Robert C. and Laura (Hynes) McChord and was the husband of Eunice (Harlan) McChord.
According to his death certificate #24032 Alfred was buried here on Sept. 14, 1911 in Section C.

Also Father of Mrs. W[illiam] F. Hurt, and Connected With Phillips Firm at Lebanon For Years.

Lebanon, Ky., Sept. 14. Al[fred] H[ynes] McChord, a well known merchant of this city, died at his home in Proctor Knott avenue, after an illness of only a few days. Death was due to a complication of troubles, following an attack of the German measles. The funeral services were held this morning in the Second Presbyterian church, and were conducted by the Rev. A. S. Moffett.

Mr. McChord was 63 years old and is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. W. F. Hurt, and also by four brothers and three sisters. His brothers are W. C. McChord of Springfield; C. C. McChord, member of the Interstate Commerce commission, of Washington, and Dr. R. C. McChord and John McChord of this city, and his sisters are Mrs. Mary Ray of Lexington; Mrs. Frank Harcourt of Pewee Valley, and Miss Lydia McChord of Louisville. Mr. McChord was born in Washington county and for a number of years was engaged in the mercantile business at Springfield. At the age of 16 he came to Lebanon, and securing a position with the firm of Phillips and brother, remained with the firm for 15 years. Afterwards he went to Springfield and for ten years he was a merchant there, returning to Lebanon about five years ago."
